Outside Prescription Policy Update

As of Tuesday, June 1st Diamond Hill Animal Clinic will no longer be handling prescriptions directly with outside pharmacies, including chewy.com, 1800petmeds, CVS, Walmart, etc. We will provide written prescriptions whenever requested. We will not be faxing or approving medications through online pharmacy portals. There are two main reasons why we have made this transition. First is the amount of time that our staff is spending dealing with outside pharmacies. This time would be better spent in other aspects of helping our clients and patients. The second reason is that the major veterinary drug manufacturers maintain a strict practicing veterinary-only sales policy. The source, handling, storage, and transportation of the medication are not known or tracked. Without this accountability, the integrity of the medications can be compromised. A majority of the major veterinary drug companies guarantee their products but when purchased through internet pharmacies this guarantee is null. Starting June 1st written prescriptions can be picked up at the clinic with a 48-72 hour notice. Thank you for your understanding and patience while we make this transition.

 

Appointment Policy

In an effort to give enough time to all visits and procedures we see patients by appointment only. However, we do occasionally have an emergency appointment that needs top priority in which case delay is sometimes unavoidable. Please be aware that we do our best to remain on schedule and run appointments on time.

For surgical procedures we often ask that your pets be dropped off by a specific time. We appreciate your cooperation as we often need to complete paperwork and/or blood work before the doctor can proceed.

Please let our staff know if you use any over the counter products for flea or tick prevention.
Examples include: Bio-spot, Hartz, Sentry, or Zodiac.

For the safety of our clients, patients and staff we require dogs to be leashed and all cats to be in a carrier or on a leash when you enter the lobby. Please keep your animals restrained and by your side until they are in an exam room as new places and people can make your pets anxious.  Please do not let your pets run loose in the lobby.


Payment Policy

We require payment in full at the time services are rendered. Diamond Hill Animal Clinic does not offer payment plans. For your convenience we accept Cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, CareCredit, and Personal Checks (with valid state-issued I.D.). Please note that all debit cards will be run as credit.
